Electronic Voting Machine using Arduino

Objective-

The objective of making this model is to replace manual election of council members, monitors and other elections members. E.V.M. is costly and a school cannot use   it due to legal matters. Keeping these in mind we have developed a mini EVM machine which can help for several elections which happens at school. In addition, it can reduce cost and save time.

Introduction-

India is the largest democracy in the world and for any political positions elections are necessary to select a candidate using vote of public. Furthermore, not only in selection of MPs and MLAs but also in school, colleges and universities elections are conducted to select a candidate. It is conducted manually and takes time to address this problem we have developed this prototype model which can help to select members an automate process of candidate selection.

Material Required-

Following materials were required to make this model.

1- Arduino Uno – A micro controller which is used for prototyping of several models.

2- Push Buttons- These buttons are used for switching purpose.

3- 2 x 16  LCD  to display votes and final result.

4-Jumper Wires- Wires which are used to supply power for several components.

Conclusion and Future Direction-

In conclusion, we have made this model for using in schools which can help to automate selection of candidate in election. Further, there several issues we noticed during model making

viz.  security of model, size of model and connectivity to the Internet. If E. V. M. is connected to the Internet, results and status can be accessed through mobile by authorities.  We have also planned to work on giving professional look and compact size of this model. So that it can be used by others.
